This week in reception, we have been learning all about sharing an amount into two groups.

 

Miss Turner has shared 4 pencils into two groups. 
I have got two pencils in each group, this is equal, as each group has the same amount.

Here is another example below, sharing six lollipop sticks into two groups -

 

How many does each group have? Is it equal? How do you know?

Sharing

Can you share 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 objects into two groups? Is it equal? Why?

 

Challenge

What happens when you share 5 objects? Is it equal? Why not?
