This week in nursery we have been using our senses to explore.  We have been on a sensory walk and used our feet to explore different textures.  For your home learning this week, we would like you to go on a sensory walk at home!  Take off your shoes and socks and see what textures you can find.  Can you find something spikey to walk on?  How about something soft?  Something cold?  Something bumpy?  Have fun!

Library Sessions

Every Monday your child will visit the library in nursery to choose a new library book.  It's important that they return the book from the previous week to enable them to choose a new one.

On the first day, read the book to your child and let them enjoy the sotry.

On the following days, you can begin to ask them some questions as you share the book together.

- What can you see in the picture?

- What will happen next?

- How is the character feeling?

You can also encourage them to join in with the parts they know.

Your child can draw a picture or engage in an activity linked to the story for example make a Gingerbread Man, build a house for the Three Little Pigs, try some porridge like the Three Bears, make a trap for the Evil Pea!  You can share what they have done in their Magic Moments book and staff will make sure your child has time to share this with us in nursery.
