Reading

If you have been told by your teacher to complete an RML and phonics lesson please click the correct links below:

If you have not been told to complete an RML lesson, please complete the tasks below:

First, warm up your brains by practising the red words in this video:

We have been reading:

Let's think together about the animals that George has met so far:

Now read the next part of the story:

George came to a big squelchy bog. Beside the bog, stood a dog who was howling.

“What’s the matter?” asked George.
“It’s this bog,” said the dog.

“I need to get across but I keep getting stuck in the mud. I wish there was a safe, dry path.”

“Cheer up” said George, and he took off his smart new belt. “It was squashing my tummy anyway,” he said, as he laid it down over the bog. It made an excellent path.

“Thank you!” said the dog.

Here are the characters from our story and sentences to show what the giant gave to them. They are all jumbled up. Can you use all of the reading that we have done to match up each character with the event that happened to them. Use the pictures above to help you remember!

You can draw or write the character and write the correct event next to them. Or you can print the sheet and cut and stick to make pairs.

You can print the text and task here:

Science

Yesterday you learnt all about the different food groups you need to eat a balanced diet. Today you are going to create your own meal but it must include food from all of the different food groups. You will need to draw your food onto your plate and label what it is and which food group it belongs to. If you would like to print this the link is below.
